Contractor Website Score

For US contractors

Is your contractor website costing you jobs?

Paste your URL. Get a 0–100 score from the public page: DIY builders, missing tap-to-call, thin copy, old copyright years. A blunt estimate, not a fake audit.

The page is fetched on our server so the check still works when a browser would be blocked. We don’t store the HTML. Heuristic estimate from the public HTML. Not a Lighthouse run, not a measured load time, and not a ranking or revenue prediction.

What the score actually checks

Eight things we can see in the HTML. The scoring page lists the point values. We do not invent rankings, traffic, or load times.

  • Website builder

Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy Website Builder, Weebly, and WordPress.com leave fingerprints in the HTML. Self-hosted WordPress does not cost points.

  • Mobile viewport

We look for a viewport meta tag set to the device width. Without it, phones often get a desktop page.

  • Phone and calls to action

Tap-to-call links, a visible phone number, a form, and phrases like “free estimate” or “call now.”

  • Contact email

A Gmail, Yahoo, or AOL address (and the same class of free inbox) as the contact email costs points. An address on your own domain does not.

  • Copyright year

We read years next to a copyright mark. A missing year or a year that is several seasons behind is a signal the page is neglected.

  • Page copy

We count visible words after removing scripts and styles, and we flag placeholder lines like “lorem ipsum,” “coming soon,” and “welcome to our website.” JavaScript-only copy is invisible to this check.

  • Title and H1

The browser title and the main heading should say what you do. “Home” and “Welcome” do not.

  • HTTPS and HTML weight

We record whether the final URL is HTTPS, how large the HTML response is, and how many script tags it contains. That is a weight estimate, not a measured load time.

How it works

  1. 01

    Paste the URL

Use the address on the truck, the Google listing, or the yard sign.

  2. 02

    We read the public HTML

No login. No invented traffic numbers. If the fetch fails, there is no score.

  3. 03

    You get the reasons

A 0–100 score, eight checks, and a straight path to a free mockup if the site is in the way.

What this is not

There is no live counter of sites scored, and there are no customer quotes on this page. The sample card above is labeled because it is fictional. This is not a Lighthouse report, not a Google ranking, and not a judgment of your workmanship. It is a read of the public HTML, with the misses written down.
